Teaching Your 16 Year Old To Drive
Hello Valued Customer!
Yes I do travel to the student's home. I teach the new 16 year old driver for a total of 6hrs. On the first day, I bring the student to the DMV along with the school contract and special learners permit appl which I have mailed to their home prior to their start. The new student driver will also need to bring their original birth certificate or US passport and waiver test card from their driver ed class and eyeglasses if they use them for distance. At the DMV, we will first buy the permit then complete the eye exam, and written exam. Those who have already passed the written exam in HS will present their waiver card. The permit process at the DMV takes about 1hr and isn't part of their actual 6hrs of driving. The driving practice begins after we get the permit. The first lesson is usually 1-2hrs long. The remaining 4hrs will then be scheduled. Oftentimes their six hrs has been scheduled prior their start date. During the initial conversation with the parent or guardian, I often try to schedule the entire 6hrs. This is probably the best way. It may allow for a smoother learning process. Both parent and child know when the practice driving will take place and their driving times which have been paid for have now been scheduled. Normally, the 16yr old completes either 3 2hr lessons or 4 90min lessons. I will need your mailing address so I can mail you the school contract and permit appl. I look forward to earning your business at Procity Driving School Thank You.
